First month in HMT....!

Well, its been more than a month since I joined HMT as a graduate apprentice.... And mind you, the whole factory is awesome....! A mechanical engineer's paradise..... There are soooo many machines, a variety of them....and they are so large.... Mind you, I never thought that I could ever see machines like which are here.... There is a printing machine which was made in England back in 1879....!!! I enjoy every moment in here... True, there is no AC, its not so clean place., my hands will be filled with grease Oil nd metal.... but I still feel that intimacy, or rather a satisfactory feeling that only a Mechanical sector can give me....

Ok, I made quite a few friends and a lot of foes in here....

I've to tell, this is the first taste of what real life is... So you meet all kinda people, some are good, some are sweethearts, some are neutral and some guys simply SUCK.... As someone well said, " Life is a lesson and you'll learn it when you're through"

This is the first sign that life's not gonna be easy in here, but I'm gonna make 100% out of this one year ....

How to get apprenticeship in INDUSTRIES (kerala).

So whats the big deal of doing apprenticeship for just 2.5kpm when you can easily find a job anywhere with minimum 6-8 k's....

dude, what do you think. Is there a difference b/w learning kung-fu from bruce lee and from another master who just got his black belt?
There is difference, rite?
These industries were started in 1960's or 70's, so they have all the machines and mechanisms of that time. Remember, I'm telling this from a Mechanical Engineeer's point of view.
All you CS and IT guys, get lost n come back later.

ok, so if u guys wanna do apprenticeship in HMT, FACT, IRE etc, first of all you gotta register in Supervisory development center in Kalamaserry, Ernakulam.

First, you have to go to Sub Treasury, Aluva to get a chalaan. To reach sub-treasury, if you are coming from ernakulam, catch any bus to aluva and get down on "zeenath theatre" bus stop. From there, treasury is just 150 meter walk. You will get the account number of SD centre from treasury. Get a tresury seal on the chalan. ok/

Second, to remit the cash ( only 50/-) , you have to go to State Bank of Travencore, Aluva branch. That is also walkable distance from treasury. Remit the amount there. Then catch any bus which goes to Ernakulam.

Get down on HMT bus stop. Ask anyone the way to primary health center, walk past primary health center for another 100 meter, on the left-side, you will find a building with a yellow board " Supervisory Development Center". Just show your original marks cards and submit the photocopies. The guys there are very helpful, the whole process won't take more than 15 mins.
Thats it, everything done.

Whwn vacancy comes, those guys will call you.
